Hundreds of countries, hundreds of thousands of cities, and billions of people to meet…
Nobody will ever get to see it all, but while you’re here, you might as well explore as much as you can and see what the world has to offer!
Today, we’ll give you 3 destinations you probably haven’t thought of to help you get started…
1. Mexico City, Mexico
The first thought that pops into many people’s minds when they think of Mexico City (and really, Mexico in general) is “dangerous.”
Images of narcos, shootings, Mexican street gangs, and other violent thoughts pop into your head.
You’d probably never guess that Mexico City is secretly one of the coolest cities in the world…
“Wait, WHAT?!” you might be thinking…
Yes, there are dangerous parts like there are in every city, and those are the parts people like to talk about.
But nobody talks about the cool and trendy neighborhoods like Condesa and Roma, which are filled with parks, greenery, hip cafes, and restaurants with food from all over the world.
There’s also Polanco and Santa Fe, which fulfill all of your shopping dreams with designers stores and more.
The nightlife is great, the weather is amazing for most of the year, the food is delicious, and the people are super friendly (and a lot of them speak English).
Mexico City is the world’s best-kept secret and you should definitely explore it (before the word gets out!).
2. Medellin, Colombia
Here’s another city you probably thought was dangerous...
(Especially after the Netflix show “Narcos” has showcased its murderous drug-filled history with Kingpin Pablo Escobar from the 80s and 90s.)
But it’s actually similar to Mexico City in that it has great restaurants, friendly locals, and amazing weather. Plus, it’s surrounded by mountains so it offers a view that few other cities in the world can provide.
You can go horseback riding through the mountains, paraglide off the mountains, or simply stroll through the hip Poblado, the trendiest part of the city, and explore the cool nightlife.
It’s the perfect city to go if you’ve never been to South America before. Prepare yourself though, because English is a bit of a rarity there! (Though you can still get by with it if you have to.)
Sevilla is a beautiful city in the south of Spain.
It’s full of history, and is home to one of the biggest Cathedrals in all of Europe. It might be worth the trip just to see the Cathedral in person.
Aside from the history, it has great weather in the fall, spring, and winter (though it can get a little too hot in the summer months).
And of course, it also has hundreds of amazing restaurants with all the tapas you could dream of.
